Manage your profile and settings

View and update your business details, adjust reporting preferences, and configure books lock from WhatsApp.

What this guide covers

Your profile holds your business details and subscription status. Settings control reporting reminders and books lock periods. This guide shows you how to view and update both from WhatsApp.

View your profile

Send My profile or tap Help → Browse commands → Account & billing → My profile.

You will see:

  • Business name and TIN
  • Registered email
  • Current plan (Free or Premium)
  • Subscription expiry date (if on Premium)
  • Credit balance

Update your business details

Send Update profile or tap Help → Browse commands → Account & billing → Update profile.

Pick which field to update:

  • Business name — your registered company or trading name
  • Business TIN — Tax Identification Number for NRS e-invoicing
  • Email — for account recovery and receipts (verify new addresses via OTP)
  • Address — optional business address

ZoboLedger prompts you to enter the new value and confirms the update.

Changing your email requires verification. ZoboLedger sends an OTP to the new address. Enter the code in WhatsApp to complete the change.

Check your settings

Send Settings or tap Help → Browse commands → Account & billing → Settings.

You will see:

  • Reporting cadence — how often ZoboLedger sends automated reports (daily, weekly, monthly, or off)
  • Books lock status — whether past periods are locked to prevent edits

Change reporting cadence

From Settings, tap Change cadence and pick:

  • Daily — end-of-day profit summary
  • Weekly — weekly profit summary every Monday
  • Monthly — monthly close summary at month-end
  • Off — no automated reports (you can still request them manually)

Automated reports are delivered in WhatsApp at the schedule you choose. You can always send Reports or Profit today anytime for on-demand summaries.

Books lock (close period)

Books lock prevents edits to transactions from closed accounting periods. This is useful when you finalize monthly or yearly books for your accountant or FIRS.

From Settings, you can:

  • Close books — lock entries up to a specific date (for example, close Jan 1–31 after finalizing January)
  • Unlock books — reopen a closed period if you need to fix something

Locked periods show a warning when you try to edit or void an entry from that date range.

Change your registered email

  1. Tap Update profile from Account & billing.
  2. Choose Email.
  3. Enter the new email address.
  4. ZoboLedger sends a 6-digit OTP to the new address.
  5. Enter the OTP in WhatsApp to verify and complete the change.

Your new email becomes the primary recovery address. Keep it accessible in case you lose your WhatsApp number.

Recover your account

If you lose access to your WhatsApp number, visit /recover on the website or tap Account & billing → Recover number from a new WhatsApp line. See Account recovery guide for the full flow.

View credit balance

Send My profile or tap Account & billing → View credit balance to check your remaining credits.

One unified credit balance powers both bookkeeping and e-invoices:

  • Bookkeeping: text entries 0.05 credits, photos 0.07, voice 0.08
  • E-invoices: 1 credit per NRS submission

Premium includes monthly credits (100 on monthly billing, 1,300 on yearly). Free accounts can buy credit packs anytime. See Account, billing, and credits.

Delete your data

From Account & billing, tap Delete my data to start permanent account erasure. ZoboLedger will confirm the action and erase your profile, transactions, and stored receipts.

This is permanent and cannot be undone. Subscription charges stop immediately, but there is no refund for the current period.
