Issue NRS B2C receipts from WhatsApp

After a retail sale, tap Generate a receipt for an NRS-compliant QR PDF. Create one from History anytime — no extra credits.

What this guide covers

When you record a B2C retail sale, ZoboLedger can issue an NRS-compliant receipt PDF with a verification QR code. This is separate from storing expense proof photos — see Store and manage expense receipts.

First-time setup (PASCA provider, business activation, cryptographic keys) is in the E-invoice setup guide.

When Generate a receipt appears

After you confirm a verified B2C sale, the confirmation message includes Generate a receipt when:

  • The entry is a sale to a retail customer (B2C channel)
  • The amount is greater than zero
  • The sale is not already linked to a full e-invoice

B2B and B2G sales show invoice guidance instead — use the Invoice menu to create a formal e-invoice.

Issue a receipt

  1. Record the sale (for example: Sold bread for 5k).
  2. Confirm with Yes, Correct.
  3. Tap Generate a receipt on the same message.
  4. ZoboLedger sends the NRS-compliant PDF in chat.

If you verified several B2C sales in one batch, one Generate a receipt button covers the whole batch.

QR codes and cryptographic keys

NRS requires your public key and certificate to embed a verification QR on the PDF. If keys are not uploaded yet, ZoboLedger prompts you with Upload Crypto Keys.

You can tap Continue without QR to issue the receipt immediately — the sale is still recorded, but the PDF will not include a verification QR until keys are active. See Cryptographic key upload in the setup guide.

Create a receipt for an existing sale

Receipt PDFs are not stored permanently — they are built when you request them. If you did not tap Generate a receipt when you confirmed, or the message scrolled away:

  1. Send History with the reference (for example History GH-20260623-2).
  2. Tap Create receipt.

ZoboLedger rebuilds the PDF from your current books. It does not create a new fiscal identity and does not use credits.
