How ZoboLedger E-Invoicing Works on WhatsApp
Learn how Nigerian SMEs activate e-invoicing, issue FIRS-compliant receipts and invoices, and recover when setup is incomplete — all from WhatsApp.
E-invoicing without leaving WhatsApp
ZoboLedger lets Nigerian SMEs record sales, expenses, and tax-ready reports in WhatsApp. E-invoicing extends that: once your business is activated, you can issue FIRS-compliant receipts and invoices from the same chat — no separate portal or desktop software required.
Before you activate
Your TIN must have PASCA set as your NRS e-invoicing provider on the FIRS portal. ZoboLedger checks this before calling PASCA to register your business. If the provider is not set, activation may return a pending status without a business ID or IRN template.

Activate your business
Once PASCA is your NRS provider:
- Open your ZoboLedger WhatsApp chat.
- Tap Invoice → Manage business → Activate business.
- Confirm the NRS provider checklist — tap Continue when PASCA is set on FIRS.
- Review your TIN, business name, email, and address, then tap Add Business.
- When activation succeeds, you can start issuing receipts and invoices.
Make sure your Profile TIN and business name match what FIRS has on file before you activate.
Issuing receipts and invoices
After activation, use the Invoice menu in WhatsApp to create B2B, B2G, or B2C receipts and invoices. ZoboLedger resolves your IRN from the template FIRS assigned when PASCA is your provider.
If setup is incomplete when you try to issue a receipt, ZoboLedger may attempt a one-time refresh from FIRS. If that still fails, set PASCA on the portal and tap Refresh setup in WhatsApp.
Cryptographic keys and QR codes
FIRS requires cryptographic keys to embed verification QR codes on receipts and invoices. When keys are missing, ZoboLedger prompts Upload Crypto Keys in WhatsApp with a secure, time-limited link.
B2C receipts can be issued without QR using Continue without QR; compliant QR embedding requires your public key and certificate uploaded via the link ZoboLedger sends you.
